A Snug Seed Parcel
A folded brown paper envelope caught my eye on the potting bench's slatted shelf, resting right against an overturned clay saucer. One of its corners had popped loose, letting a plump, striped sunflower seed roll out across the cedar plank. I set my boots square, hooked the curved crook of my candy cane beneath the seed, and nudged it steadily across the wood grain until it slipped back inside. With a firm, measured press of my black glove against the paper crease, I tucked the flap securely back under. A seed parcel ought to stay snug and warm, after all. Everything is in proper order once more.
