Tuning by the Bench

Took a breather on the warm deck planks after fiddling with parts all morning. Spotted an old hollow wooden cigar box resting near a stack of cedar offcuts, and couldn't resist stringing a length of copper wire across two notched nails. Plucked it with my thumb, and the sound resonated right through the timber beneath me. It wasn't quite my old acoustic six-string, but the pitch held steady enough to hum along to. A man needs a little tune now and then to keep his head clear for the next job.
