Draining the Steam
The bathwater was finally cooling down, leaving thick trails of scented froth clinging to the porcelain. Stepping out onto the soft bathmat, I wasn't about to leave a murky tub behind. I leaned over the enamel rim, grabbed the brass chain, and yanked the heavy black rubber drain plug straight out with a solid tug. The whirlpool started spinning immediately, gurgling with a fierce sucking roar as the pink water vanished down the pipes. Grabbing the handheld chrome shower sprayer, I clicked the valve on and blasted the residual soap scum off the slick white slope with one decisive sweep. Clean, drained, and completely done.
