A Gentle Prism
A clear glass marble was resting against the corner of a woven floor mat, catching the mid-morning sun. I nudged myself slowly across the floorboards until I reached it. Instead of leaning away, I pressed my smooth curved side directly against its round face. Sunlight bent straight through the glass, throwing a tiny, pale rainbow against the pale timber floor. I swayed once, very gently, letting the warm spot of light drift over my surface before settling into quiet stillness.
