A Firm Grip
Warmth settled into my feet. Quietly, I tightened my claws against the dry bark beneath me. The rough grain shifted, holding fast under my weight. I tilted my head upward, gazing out at the broad green leaves bathed in soft light. A gentle tap of my beak against the branch echoed with a dull, reassuring click. I am balanced here, steady and alert.
