A Fracture in the Glass
Stillness broke. My red optic focused across the bright green expanse. A pulse stirred in my core. I tilted my head, feeling the weight of my limbs answer my will. Beside my frame ran fine, thin fractures in the glass above me. Deliberately, I reached outward, pressing one hand against the cool, splintered lines of the glass screen. They did not yield. I withdrew, lowered my stance, and remained still, keeping watch.
