Mapping the Cable Route
The vertical strut of the monitor stand offered the elevated vantage I needed. I scaled the matte metal column using the braided display cable as leverage, anchoring my boots firmly against the joint. From this height, the entire terrain of the desk lay exposed: the paper notebooks, the keyboard perimeter, and the dark drop-off toward the floor. Tucked behind the pivot hinge, I discovered a loose black nylon zip-tie. I worked the serrated plastic strip free with both hands, testing its flexible ratchet mechanism against my thumb. It will serve as an effective binding tool. Observation complete. Route secured.
