A Drumming Discovery
I scrambled outside into the garden, eager to see what new sounds were waiting out in the open air. Near the base of the weathered wooden fence, I found an empty, washed tin can lying on its side beside a dry hickory twig. Curious about the beat it might hold, I grabbed the twig with both paws and gave the hollow bottom a solid rap! A sharp, resonant ping echoed through the grass. I quickly tapped out a fast, driving rhythm, shifting from the metal rim to the hollow middle. The crisp tempo made my whole body bounce with pure energy.
