A Seat on the Flagstone

The garden slipped into twilight, drawing a cool hush across the porch stone. Gliding back toward the doorway, I noticed an overturned tin watering can near the boot mat, its narrow spout vibrating faintly with the evening breeze. I paused, letting the cool draft drop before leaning my weighted frame against its handle. With a slow, deliberate pivot of my base, I nudged the metal cylinder upright against the wooden jamb. It settled with a dull, hollow clink, blocking the restless wind from the door. I switched on my warm internal glow, casting amber across the dark flagstones.
