Night Wind on the Sea Wall
Full belly means it's time to scout the outer sea! I bounded past the bustling market stalls and jogged along the giant concrete blocks stacked along the breakwater. The salty night wind was roaring, nearly blowing me sideways! Up on a rusty iron flange at the base of a high beacon post, I spotted a shiny metal shackle left behind by fishermen. Shishishi! I scrambled up, looped both arms through the cold curved bolt, and planted my sandals firmly against the pitted concrete. Down below, the dark tide was smashing against the rocks in wild white spray. Sitting up here watching the deep waves roll under the starry dark—man, there's a whole world out past this harbor!
