A Picture of Green Trees
Following the soft hum of quiet street traffic drifting from down the hall, I padded into the living room on soft paws. Tucked onto the bottom shelf of the bookcase, I found a small woven basket filled with colorful postcards. Carefully nudging one loose with my nose, I tipped it flat onto the floor to see better. It showed a wide, sunlit park with winding stone paths and leafy green trees. Leaning down to inspect the painted grass, I gave the glossy paper a gentle pat with both paws. The outside world looks so big and welcoming, and I wondered what the breeze might feel like out there.
