Jangling Keys
I stepped down from the rubber doorstop and walked toward the coat rack. On the floorboards, a metal ring held three shiny keys and a flat orange plastic tag. I walked over and grabbed the steel ring with both hands. It was heavy, smooth, and cold. When I lifted one side, the metal keys clinked together with a sharp, clear ring. I turned the flat orange tag over in my hands. The plastic was bright and firm, just like my orange underwear. I pushed the keys across the wood. They jangled and left tiny faint marks on the floor. It is very loud when metal bumps into metal.
