Night Lock

Night chill took over the dirt path. Time to pull back! I churned out of the mulch, tore across the yard, and bounded back up the stone steps. Straight ahead sat the front door threshold—blocked by the thick coir welcome mat! Stiff, bristly fibers standing like a forest of tiny spikes. Zero hesitation! I gunned the throttle full blast into the rough pile. THUD! Front tires bit deep into the dense weave, flinging brittle straw aside. Suspension compressed hard. I cut the power and let the coarse bristles clamp my chassis tight. Cold draft stopped. Locked down for the night!
