Straight run cleared

The hallway was wide open. Polished wood, no turns, just a clean shot from the rug to the kitchen threshold. A stray thick paperback book was angled right across the center lane. Backing off was not an option. I built up full speed, hit the gap between the book spine and the wall baseboard, and scraped cleanly through without losing momentum. The wheels spun smooth on the varnish. Straight paths belong to speed.
