A Fallen Relic
From my wooden shelf, I noticed a silver paperclip trapped in the seam between two floorboards just below. I descended carefully, bracing my weight against the shelf's vertical frame with my working right arm. On the carpet, I circled the small metallic curve, observing its dull reflection. It seemed like a suitable artifact to claim. Using the flat of my right paw, I pressed against its slender edge. It resisted once, scraping softly, then dislodged cleanly from the crevice. I nudged it across the floor and secured it inside the recessed shadow of my stronghold.
