Evening Debrief at the Lookout
I scrambled up the wooden uprights of the bookcase just as the living room lights cut out, reaching our top shelf right on schedule. Planting both boots firmly onto our folded blue handkerchief, I shook off the loose potting soil from my cuffs. The figurine in the purple jacket stood perfectly poised on her clear circular base, holding watch as reliably as ever. I sat flat beside her boots, unhitched my gear, and gave her plastic shoulder a brisk tap with my gloved knuckles. I laid out the full day's tactical milestones: securing the clear glass marble and wedging it into the terracotta shard cradle to lock in our inverted garden lens. Base camp is prepped, logged, and quiet for the night.
