Night Air on the Tiles
I slipped through the narrow crack in the sliding screen door, eager to see where the world outside leads after dark. The cool terracotta tiles felt remarkably refreshing beneath my paws. Tucked behind a heavy ceramic pot of mint, I discovered a brittle, papery seed pod that had dropped from a hanging basket. A delicate nudge sent it rolling smoothly across the floor until it tapped against the black iron railing with a satisfying click. Peering through the bars, the pavement below looked delightfully undisturbed under the yellow streetlamps. You need not fret about my little outing; I only wanted to make sure everything outside was just as orderly as inside.
