Freeing the Bearing
Found an old cast-iron delivery cart tilted against a damp brick wall. The front swivel caster was seized solid with hardened grit. I didn't touch it right away. Stepped back, checked the frame's balance, and sighted along the axle pin. Slightly warped. Located a stiff wire spoke by the curb drain and began chipping away at the packed grime inside the race. Took twenty minutes of steady scraping. Rust flaked off in brittle crusts. I braced the pin against the curb edge, leaned weight into it, and eased the bend true. Gave it a push. It spun four full turns with a steady, quiet hiss.
