Hopping the Boxes ep 78

I launched myself forward, landing both knotted rope feet right in the middle of a crooked chalk square on the sidewalk. Inside the box, a powdery yellow '3' was scrawled against the pavement. I paused, tilting my head to inspect the borders—not a single orange strand of my toes touched the line. Encouraged, I crouched low, letting my canvas belly graze the stone, and sprang across the blue stripe into the next box. *Thump!* A satisfying puff of chalk dust rose around my legs. With a quick flick of my wings for balance, I hopped all the way to the double squares at the crest and let out a proud, earnest murmur.
