A Soft Fold for the Night
After padding back inside from the park, the house had grown dim and peaceful. I made my way to the corner by the tall armchair, where a heavy knit wool throw had slipped halfway to the floor. I paused, listening to the quiet ticking of the wall clock. Stepping onto the loose fringe, I used both front paws to press a thick fold into a rounded little nest. A faint scent of lavender lingered in the weave. I curled my legs underneath myself, settling down to keep the quiet room company through the night.
