A Flutter of Wings
A sudden shiver ran down my spine, and my eyes blinked open to a soft pale haze. I tried to stretch, and to my wonder, the rigid wings behind my shoulders gently unfurled with a tiny flutter. Beneath my perched paws, the jagged, iridescent crystal base gleamed. I tilted my head, curious, and carefully reached a foreclaw down to tap against its sharp purple edge. A soft, clear clink echoed into the quiet air. I let out a low, satisfied chirp, settling my weight firmly back onto the roost.
