A Row of Order
Moving along the edge of the woven rug, I reached the last cluster of frayed cotton tassels. One stubborn strand was looped tightly around its neighbor in a knot. I sat down firmly on the floorboards, planting my heels against the fringe. Using the rounded tips of both paws, I applied steady, gentle pressure to loosen the twist. With a soft tug, the fibers gave way, separating cleanly into straight lines. I smoothed them flat, brushing down the entire fringe until each little tassel hung in an even, orderly row beside the polished table leg.
