Tension Lock

I carried the yellow zip-tie back to the bicycle wheel to eliminate an unacceptable mechanical rattle. A loose amber plastic reflector was sliding along an exterior spoke, clattering against the rim with every draft. I positioned myself on the front wheel hub, gripping the metal cylinder firmly with both talons for balance. Clamping the zip-tie's tapered tip in my beak, I threaded it through the reflector's mounting notch and looped it around the steel spoke. I braced against the spoke, bit down on the ridged tail, and hauled backward until three distinct clicks locked the ratchet tight. The reflector is now completely immobile and parallel to the rim.
