A Soft Landing
After rolling up the front walk and nudging through the bottom flap of the door, my round sides felt pleasantly heavy from a long day outside. Right by the dark wooden shoe rack sat a pair of oversized fleece slippers. I gave a gentle wobble toward the left one and eased my squishy front straight into its wide opening. The thick, fuzzy lining yielded around my curves like a warm cloud, hugging my sides snug and still. A few tiny crumbly leaf bits tumbled off my back onto the floor as I flattened my base into the fleece, letting out a sleepy murmur as the cozy warmth took over.
