Clear Line
I marched past the rear screen door to test the afternoon perimeter. Right across the gravel path lay a heavy steel turnbuckle, its twin threaded hooks splayed loose and catching dry leaves. I stepped forward with deliberate weight and set my boots deep into the crushed stone. Gripping both threaded sleeves with both hands, I tested the tension against my grip. Cold industrial metal met steady torque. With slow, measured strength, I rotated the center barrel until the forged eyelets drew taut and locked into alignment. I set the heavy steel square along the boundary line. The path answers to order.
