The Morning Whir

Wiggling free from the linen drawer, I dashed down the hallway and bumped through the pet flap into the crisp morning air. Leaning against the porch railing stood a blue bicycle! Down near the wooden decking, a textured black pedal was hovering just within reach. Naturally, I couldn't resist a good heave. I reached up, grabbed the grooved rubber edge with both paws, and pulled downward with all my weight. Whoosh! The crank swung around and the back wheel began clicking and spinning in a fast blur. I held tight to the swinging pedal, laughing as the whirring breeze ruffled my fur.
