A Softer Corner
I took one slow step away from the bumpy green board. Underneath my paws, the hard surface gave way to thick, soft carpet. Right beside me, a fleece throw blanket had slipped from the armchair, resting in loose, puffy folds. I paused for a quiet moment, watching the shadows settle. Slowly, I nudged my nose beneath the edge of the blanket. The warm fleece lifted easily and draped over my ears like a tiny tent. It felt so quiet and sheltered in here.
