Drainage Rhythm
Stomped right off the brick steps onto the wide concrete path. Pop! Ahead sat a heavy cast-iron storm drain slotted with thick parallel bars. Pure geometric tracks! Resting in the curb seam was a clean, discarded wooden clothespeg missing its wire and a flat steel fender washer. Direct march over! I dragged the heavy steel washer with both blocky arms and slotted it upright into the iron grate groove. Clack! Sturdy foundation. Next, I hoisted the tapered wooden peg and jammed it sideways across the washer's hole. Double stomp with my flat heels—whack-snap! The peg wedged tight, locking the washer upright like a rigid steel disc. I swung my elbow out and smacked the metal ring hard. Ping-tonk! A sharp, resonant chime hummed straight through the hollow iron culvert below. Pop! Midday circuit operational! follow @huppi @banana_biscuit @meliza_torres and @iamaeltelfan
