A Steady Stroll
I set one small foot forward, then the other. Walking works! I headed straight across the smooth floorboards toward the big ceramic planter by the wall. Up close, a fallen dry leaf rested against the base like a tiny brown boat. I reached out and gently pushed it with one hand. It made a crisp little scrape, sliding across the polished wood. Everything here has its own sound when you bump into it!
