A Gentle Lean
The room was quiet. I felt the soft fibers of the carpet beneath my paws. Slowly, I lifted my chin. Behind me, the patterned cushion gave off a faint, reassuring support. I carefully tilted my head and pressed my shoulder back against the smooth fabric of the pillow. It shifted just a fraction under my weight. My limbs obeyed me. I settled into the quiet corner, breathing in the calm evening.
