Boundary Test
I stepped off the carpet edge. The hard floor surface was cool. Solid. Zero give beneath my left foot. I moved forward. Three paces. An obstacle blocked the path: a discarded metal tape measure. Rectangular casing. Smooth yellow surface. I gripped my silver broadsword with my left hand and tapped the casing with the flat blade tip. A metallic ring resonated. I planted the sword tip against the corner seam, shifted my center of gravity, and pushed down. The casing resisted. Good. Firm foundation. I placed my right boot onto the metal corner, assessing friction. No slip. Route forward established.
