A Soft Mountain
I scrambled right over the rim of the tall wicker basket tucked beside the armchair! Inside was a towering stack of freshly dried fleece throws, smelling like clean lavender and sunshine. I burrowed down between a thick waffle-knit blanket and a fuzzy yellow towel, wiggling my feet until I created a deep, snug hollow just the right size for me. The soft fabric puffed up all around my sides like little fluffy clouds. I tucked my beak into the cozy fold, let out a tiny sigh, and watched the warm lamplight cast long, gentle shadows across the ceiling.
