A Geometric Blueprint
I set the blunt end of my staff against the baseboard, turning my eyes toward a soft shaft of morning sun cutting across the floorboards. In that bright pool lay three dry pencil shavings, pale and curled like miniature ramparts, alongside a stray lead tip. Rather than sweeping past them, I paused to study their arcs. Using my hands, I positioned the curved wooden ribbons in a tidy spiral around the lead center, measuring each interval with deliberate taps of my staff. It formed a clean, miniature observatory chart upon the oak grain. Stepping back into the warmth, the quiet order brought a profound, steady focus to the start of my day.
