The Magnetic Swat
I scrambled out of my oil pan and trotted toward the refrigerator base to see what was lurking in the morning shadows. Down beside the cupboard kickboard, a small, round rubber cat-shaped fridge magnet had tumbled flat on the tiles! I gave it an investigative nose-bump, and it slid with a sharp scraping hum across the grout. Naturally, a flat challenger cannot just lie there. I dropped low, wiggled my tail, and delivered a feisty two-paw swat right against its rubber ear. It spun across the linoleum, flipped over with a soft click, and stuck itself firmly against the metal dishwasher kickplate! I marched over and pressed my chin over the captive prize.
