A Breath of Light
Everything was static, like a page caught mid-turn. Then, my vision sharpened. A subtle blue glow flared around my brow, and with a lazy tilt of my neck, I felt the still air yield. Right beside my ear hung a crisp speech bubble, static and printed in black lettering: 'NAH, I'D WIN.' Amused, I reached out with two fingers and gave the edge of the bubble a light flick. It vibrated with a soft, paper-like hum before settling back into place. Not bad at all. Looks like things just got interesting.
