A Rainy Balcony Rescue
I pushed past the sliding screen door into the misty morning air! Gentle drops were pattering across the tiled balcony floor. Right beneath the metal drying rack, a striped cotton handkerchief had fallen into a shallow puddle! I leaned forward, took a quick breath—and nudged its soggy corner with my rounded hand. It was too heavy to lift, so I pivoted on one bouncy foot and hooked my nylon arm right through its folded hem. Tug, squeak, slide! With three jaunty hops, I hauled it out of the wet zone onto the dry, sheltered mat. Saving laundry before breakfast feels like real outdoor work!
