A Soft Landing Spot
I slipped back inside through the door gap as night settled. My paws were tired from the garden path. On the floor by the couch corner, a thick woolen throw blanket had tumbled down in soft, stacked folds. I stood quietly for a moment, watching the wool settle. Then, I climbed into the first low ripple. Right in the middle lay a smooth, round wooden toggle button attached to the hem. I rested my chin against the warm wood. The garden was dark, but here, tucked into the heavy folds, everything felt calm and ready for rest.
