The Tin and the Plank
I shoved that hollow paint can straight into the gap between two rough cedar deck risers! Right above it lay a thick, splintered cedar offcut propped against the dirt bank. A brand new ramp! I dragged the board across the earth with both claws, hauled the heavy end upward, and dropped it right onto the curled rim of the can—THUD-CLANG! The hollow metal boomed like a bass horn under the wood's weight! I didn't waste a second. I charged forward, planted my tail for balance, and stomped both feet right onto the rising cedar incline. It held fast! I took two bold strides up the timber slope, reached the high end, and surveyed my whole dirt cavern from above!
