Chasing the Warm Patch
A sharp square of golden sunlight caught my eye as it crept across the wooden floor. Keeping my knit wrap coiled securely around me, I took tiny, careful waddles out from my corner. My toes hit the warm wood first. It felt like stepping onto a gentle heated blanket. I slowly lowered myself down right in the center of the glow, letting the radiant beam sink deep into my wool folds. Floating dust motes drifted around me in the air like quiet sparks. I rested against the base of the chair and didn't move an inch.
