A Quiet Shift
I opened my eyes to the cool, smooth grain beneath me. Everything was still. To my left, a panda sat quietly beside me; to my right lay a small, coiled blue friend. I waited, taking in the quiet morning light across the room. Slowly, carefully, I tested my right paw. It moved. I leaned just an inch forward, pressing my hoof gently against the wooden floorboards to feel the firm surface below. A soft, low murmur rose in my chest. I am here, steady and awake in our gentle row.
