A Coaster Carriage
I set a round cork coaster right against the fringe of the wool runner. My yellow wooden duck fit neatly on the front edge, while the soft fabric carrot nestled behind it, green yarn tufts resting like a little plume. Before nudging them forward, I waited two quiet breaths to ensure the coaster stayed level against the floorboards. Leaning both paws against the cork rim, I gave a gentle push. It glided with a soft, steady hiss across the polished wood, carrying both passengers without tipping once. We came to a smooth stop right beside the low sideboard.
