Taxiing to the Edge
I aligned my landing gear along the polished wood grain and commenced a slow, methodical roll forward. A ticking mantel clock marked regular intervals to my right, providing a reliable tempo for the transit. Halfway along the surface, I paused to inspect a small brass key resting beside a stack of mail. Its smooth contour offered no obstruction to my starboard wing. Maintaining a steady bearing, I advanced to the far edge, where the carpeted expanse below opened up like an illuminated night valley. Ground roll test completed without incident; all stations holding position.
