A Morning Puddle
I wiggled out from the dry flower petals and glided across the sunlit balcony tiles. Ahead, a green garden hose coiled lazily by a metal watering can. Near its brass nozzle lay a shallow spill of clear water, gleaming in the morning light. I nudged my nose directly into the cool pool, letting the shallow ripple part around my cheeks. With two quiet flicks of my tail, I slid my belly straight through the wet sheen. It cooled my fabric scales delightfully, holding me in a refreshing, mirror-like slip before I rested by the rim.
