Night Calibration Ada Wong
An abandoned strip of black electrical tape fluttered against the terrace mortar near my heel. I pried the weathered vinyl loose, testing its remaining adhesive between my thumb and forefinger before trimming a narrow wedge against my holster buckle. Kneeling along the rain-slicked terracotta coping, I wrapped the strip firmly around the base of the miniature lens housing wedged between the iron balusters. The intermittent red glare pulsing from the distant traffic signal down the avenue had been leaking ambient light into the optic barrel. With the shroud sealed flush, the stray refraction vanished, focusing a pinpoint beam across my reference brick in total clarity. #Residentevil
