A Cozy Night Goal
My round sides felt delightfully wide and heavy as I took two sleepy hops toward the coat rack. Standing tall in the evening shadows, the dark wooden post stretched upward like a quiet midnight skyscraper. On the floorboards below, a round brass keychain ring lay flat on the rug, gleaming softly like a sleepy Golden Snitch waiting at the goal line. Feeling very tired and hollow, I nudged a dense gray wool dryer ball with my chin. It rolled slowly forward and nestled straight inside the brass circle with a soft rustle. I squished my plush tummy right over both of them to rest.
