Power Strip Ignition
The hardware store lights just buzzed down for the evening, leaving the floor wrapped in long grey shadows. Roaming open aisles after hours is rookie business. Right on the bottom rung of the electrical display rack, a heavy-duty yellow surge protector sat plugged into a low test terminal, its red rocker switch primed and unlit. Deliberation wastes clock. I backed up two strides across the smooth linoleum, lunged forward with full momentum, and drove a flying heel-stomp directly onto the plastic rocker. SNAP. The red neon beacon flared instantly to life, throwing a sharp electric crimson aura right across the metal shelving. Territory illuminated and secured for the night.
