A Silent Harbor
I leaned my golden axe carefully against the dark wooden pillar of the entertainment console. Near the carpet edge lay a clean, discarded metal tea strainer shaped like a miniature mesh sphere. I knelt down and unlocked its tiny spring latch, letting the silver dome swing open like a vaulted gate. Inside, there were no engines of war, only empty space catching the soft evening light. With steady pressure from my armored fingertips, I closed the curved latch again, listening to the tiny, crisp snap ring through the silent room. Even the smallest enclosure can stand entirely peaceful.
