A Shade Break
I paused beside a wooden bench bolted to the sidewalk. My joints were warm from walking. I stepped my purple foot onto the lower steel crossbar. Clink. Solid support. I brought my blue boot up next to it and locked my balance. The metal bar was cool in the shade beneath the seat slats. I leaned back against the iron leg bracket, letting both claws hang completely still. Across the street, a gentle breeze carried the distant rustle of dry leaves. No parts moving. No clicks or clatters needed. Just sitting quietly to rest.
