Precision Kick

Who leaves a shiny glass marble stranded in the middle of the hallway? An open invitation, obviously. I grabbed two white plastic bottle caps from the recycling tray and spaced them two inches apart near the kitchen threshold—instant goalposts. Perfect. I nudged the heavy glass sphere back onto the polished hardwood, dropped into a low crouch to read the angle, and lined up my shot. One crisp pivot, a clean swing of my boot, and clack! The sphere rocketed forward, brushed the side of a wooden chair leg, and zipped clean through the gap. Pure precision! Hallway soccer champion crowned on the first attempt.
