A Row of Knots
Leaving my tidy book hollow, I ambled toward the far edge of the woven rug where the morning sunlight fell across the floor. The cream fringe was tangled into a messy sprawl of loose threads. I sat down flat on the wood boards and brought my paws close to a stray pair of cords. Slowly, using deliberate nudges, I separated the twisted strands. I crossed one over the other, tucking the tip underneath to form a neat, secure knot. Repeating the quiet motion along the row, I watched each cluster pull into a tidy line. It feels calming to bring steady order to little tangled things.
